3D Identity / Subversive ceramics

Sven Maricic & Drazen Vitolovic

Talk and a workshop in which new technologies are combined with the archaic material, and the result is an intervention into the public space - with a message. What did a successful reconstruction of a human head look like with computer generated forms, using new CAD-CAM technology and how does this technology apply to ceramics. We will look into a 3D as a digital and an analogue process. Clay, as one of the 'oldest' materials, still pushes the boundaries of ceramics. Make your own clay graphite, and express yourself creatively at this workshop.

Day ONE - A (Sven) Computer Generated 3D Printed Forms - CADCAM technology; B (Dražen) ceramic processes between archetypes and contemporary/ practical - intervention in the space of clay pigments

Day TWO - hand modeling of 3D objects with clay, intervention in the space of clay pigments

Day THREE - interventions in space, admiring the created works

No experience is necessary to participate in this workshop. We will work both in groups and individually. Due to a limited number of participants (15-20), an application is required.
